As a Founding Father and signer of the Declaration of Independence, Dr. Benjamin Rush was close friends to both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. He was there when the two men worked together to carefully and diligently compose the Declaration of Independence. Rush understood how much these two men contributed to the founding of this country.
