Dear Liberty,
"In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in this own eyes." Judges 21:25
On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that abortion is a fundamental right. It was a ruling that has sent America down an amazingly destructive road.
In June of 1969, already the mother of two, the divorced 21-year-old Norma McCorvey realized she was once again pregnant. Her first child was being raised by her mother and she had no contact with the second child as it was being raised solely by the father. Scared and uncertain what to do, Norma returned to her roots in Dallas. Texas law at the time permitted abortion in pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. As a result, Norma lied about being raped to obtain an abortion. Since there was no police record of the rape, authorities denied her request, prompting Norma to attempt to terminate the pregnancy illegally, which also failed.
With nowhere else to turn, Norma was referred to attorneys Linda Coffee and Sarah Weddington, who were waiting for someone in her circumstances to challenge Texas' abortion law. So not to void the lawsuit, Norma was advised from traveling to another state to obtain a legal abortion. For anonymity, the lawsuit was filed under the pseudonym Jane Roe with the Dallas County's District Attorney Henry Wade named as the defendant.
By the time her case made it to the Supreme Court, she had long since given birth and placed the baby up for adoption. Regardless, she continued with the case as a fight for the right to an abortion for all women. At the same time a similar case regarding abortion in Georgia was making its way to the Supreme Court. The justices coordinated the release of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton for the same day, but the Roe decision captured the limelight as it ruled abortion constitutional for any reason up until viability, or the time a fetus could survive outside the womb. The Doe decision legalized abortion after viability for health reasons.
In the mid-1990s, while working at a clinic, Norma became friends with a preacher, Philip "Flip" Benham, who worked next door at Operation Rescue. During cigarette breaks, Benham shared his Christian beliefs with Norma, changing her heart and her worldview. She began going to church, was baptized, gave up her lesbian lifestyle, and began advocating for the pro-life cause. Norma admitted she willfully participated in the case at the time. Years later she revealed the feminists she worked with treated her with contempt instead of as an equal fighting for feminism. After all, she was nothing more than a poor, drug using, blue-collar worker. Likewise, Sandra Cano, known as Mary Doe from Doe v. Bolton, denounced her case's decision, claiming it was filed without her knowledge or consent. A pro-life advocate and not seeking abortion, the lawyers deceitfully obtained her signature on an affidavit which they used to file the lawsuit.
The 7-2 Roe v. Wade decision included five Republican appointed justices siding with the majority. An example of the Supreme Court legislating from the bench, the justices ruled the privacy of a woman trumps the life of an unborn. It continued the court’s process of giving people the permission to dehumanize human life. Following the deep-seated belief of socialists that, “All men are created equal, but some are more equal than others,” the court ruled against the rights of a fetus just as they had in the Dred Scott Decision, where they conferred secondary status on black people in the 1860s. (see Dreadful Scott Decision) In Inalienable Rights, I compare the Dred Scott Decision and Roe v. Wade as continuations of the same bigotry. The two cases viewed blacks and unborn babies, not as people, but as property. Therefore, property owners and mothers contend it is their right to do with such property as they see fit, including murder, as it is their own private matter.
The first anti-abortion legislation in the United States occurred in 1821 in Connecticut. By 1900, all states had anti-abortion laws. The fact that such laws protecting life had to be passed proves that abortion was an issue long before Roe v. Wade. However, now that we have dehumanized babies, as Nazi’s dehumanized Jews, we are experiencing the catastrophic consequences as a society. (see At Ease In Our Poverty)
Historically babies in the womb were considered alive at the "quickening," or the moment that movement was felt by the mother. With the invention of the ultrasound, understanding of the life of a fetus greatly increased. (see When Does Life Begin?) Since Roe v. Wade, ultrasounds and sonograms have become standard procedure during medical exams for pregnant women. The first picture most children today have in their scrapbook is the black and white image of them in the womb. It is becoming increasingly harder for pro-choice advocates to brush off a fetus as just a clump of cells, which they continue to do while waiting breathlessly for news that water on Mars proves life in a one-celled organism. (see Is There Any Intelligent Life Out There?) It is why Planned Parenthood vehemently fights any legislation that requires a mother have a ultrasound before moving forward with an abortion. The pro-death advocates know that 78% of women who see a sonogram of their baby change their mind about an abortion. Why would Planned Parenthood fight that unless they have an ulterior motive? Liberty, days after I discovered I was pregnant with you, I went to the doctor and saw you on a screen and listened to your heartbeat. There is NO doubt that you were life and you were a person. And just as importantly, I was your mother and it was my responsibility to protect you.
Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, was a socialist and a eugenist. Like Hitler, she wanted to eliminate "undesirables" so as to perfect the human race. To disguise her true purpose, she packaged her process of eradicating "human weeds" under the friendly wrapping of "family planning". In her own words, Sanger believed "Non-Aryan people [of the United States are] a great biological menace to the future of civilization.” (see Sanger and Eugenics and Socialism, Oh, My and Finishing The Master Race)
Just four years ago, the Center for Medical Progress released several videos exposing Planned Parenthood's practice of selling aborted fetuses. Most Democrats, and too many Republicans, responded with a yawn, continuing to give taxpayer money to the government sponsored butcher mill alleging the organization is vital to women's health. (see The Axis of Evil and Evil Is As Evil Does) The organization claims abortions are only 3% of what they do, but they account for 83% of their entire revenue. Planned Parenthood goes even further into the rabbit hole, defying law by performing abortions on underage girls without a parent's consent, and not reporting instances of rape, incest, abuse, and statutory rape.
Completely consumed by their sin, Planned Parenthood recently launched a Billboard campaign with women saying they “joined the #SayAbortion campaign because abortion is normal, abortion is health care, and I will not apologize for putting my life first.” They want to make conversations about abortion “as easy as talking about a colonoscopy”. These women proudly worship at the foot of Baal proving they haven’t “progressed.” They are merely committing the same atrocities pagans did thousands of years ago as they offered their children up as sacrifices. (see “Soylent Green Is Made Out Of People!”) The anti-God movement screams that they don't want Christians pushing their religion on them while they demand we worship at the altar of progressivism and sacrifice our babies to their god - themselves.
An educator himself, Democrat President Woodrow Wilson introduced liberalism/ progressivism in our public school system over 100 years ago. (see The Birth Of A Nation) Since then, progressives have successfully removed God, the 10 Commandments, and any common sense from our school. (see It's Not What's In Your Hand, It's What's In Your Heart) They sue if a coach says a prayer before a game, but then lose their minds when a player is accused of rape. They refuse to allow our teachers to teach morals, but are furious when our kids don't have any. They simply can’t understand how their perversions have led to the perverted thinking that leads to school shootings. It must be the gun’s fault.
Feminists celebrate Roe v. Wade, praising it as a huge step in the sexual revolution. Thanks to their efforts, leftists have progressed society from one that considered sex a private matter to one openly flaunting it. Premarital sex is nothing new to the world. In fact, my great-grandparents had to get married once they discovered a baby was on the way. But that’s what they did. They got married, just like virtually everyone else in the same situation. Both people took responsibility. But abortion does away with responsibility. Not just for the woman, but also for the man. The left’s agenda has created the toxic male that they now vilify, yet feminists today wonder why men do not respect them and merely treat them as sex objects.
Likewise, feminists revel in the ability and right to sleep with whomever they want whenever they want. Where it use to be a coat of shame, feminists wear being "loose" as a badge of honor. Yet now we are suppose to take them seriously when they complain about men always expecting sex, even on the first date? Why wouldn't they when the media and Hollywood tells them that's what everyone should do? They set up this perfect Utopia for themselves, abandoning not only Judeo/Christian values, but God Himself. Nevertheless, now that the fruits of their labor are coming to light, they want to criticize and condemn what they have produced. (see Fruit Of The Forbidden Tree) They are reaping what they have sown, but they want to blame everyone else for the crop.
After Playboy Magazine creator Hugh Hefner passed away on September 27, 2017, Hollywood celebrated the multi-millionaire, who made his fortune exhibiting naked women for the pleasure of men. Feminists lied to themselves believing Hefner empowered women as they proudly bared their breasts and every other private part in the pages of his magazine, claiming they were expressing their freedom as a woman. A week later, when the scandal broke about producer Harry Weinstein's sexual abuse allegations, they were crying “Me Too", infuriated that men would treat them and view them only as mere sex objects.
Hollywood knew exactly what Weinstein was doing to women, even though they acted totally shocked by the news. It was no secret. Those that were victims of his sexual advances admitted they did not want the encounter to happen, but they were afraid for their career. So while playing the victim card, they admitted they didn't do anything about it because their career was more important. While it is inexcusable that they had to go through such an experience, their silence only allowed Weinstein and others to make victims of many more women. They are reaping what they built. This is their Utopia!
Feminists pride themselves in not needing a man, smugly declaring they are more than capable of taking care of themselves. To show the world how serious they are, they dance around at rallies wearing pink vagina hats. But at the first instance of trouble, they claim victimhood. Feminist actresses excoriated men for not stopping Weinstein while they themselves stood by silently, allowing it to happen so they could get the next big role. These are the same actresses who willingly expose themselves in movies “for their career” and attend public events in outfits that leave very little, if anything, to the imagination, with the specific purpose of garnering attention. These feminists want men to want them. Sex scenes are included explicitly to draw viewership. Now, these same women are trying to shame men for doing the very thing they needed them to do to advance their career - view them as sex objects.
In their cries and admonishments of men not respecting women, feminists found time to criticize Vice-President Mike Pence, who admitted he does not have dinner alone with a woman other than his wife, even for business. Feminists mocked and ridiculed him as well as other men who open doors for women, pull out chairs for them, and offer a helping hand. This use to be called gentlemanly. Today, post-modernism labels it as “toxic masculinity” while demanding men respect them. This is how confused and ignorantly hypocritical society is today.
During the first Woman’s March the day after President Donald Trump’s Inauguration, singer Madonna said she dreamt about “blowing up the White House”. Other Hollywood elite progressives have since called for his assassination. (see The Shot That Changed The World and Conspiracy Theories) Liberty, when you lose the respect for the life of your own child, what value does anybody else’s life have? If they are a burden, inconvenient, or annoying, simply kill them. I wonder why there are so many school shootings? Perhaps we no longer respect life?
The left hates America and it’s history. They should. America perpetuated slavery, gave birth to the Klu Klux Klan, and killed off much of the Cherokee nation in the Trail of Tears. (see America's Ongoing Civil War, Civil Rights...And Wrongs, There's Nothing Right About The Alt-Right and Satan's Manifest Destiny) These are all the result of the members of the Democratic Party, the same people that now shout for the right to kill their own children.
At the time of Roe v. Wade, it was argued that abortions would only be in rare cases. Today, just to prove they can, women are murdering their babies and then bragging about it on social media. In New York, more black babies are aborted than born. Which leads one to ask, how civilized is a society that proudly slaughters their own children? Is it better than one that condones slavery, racism, or the killing of a native population? The problem with America is an old one; the policies of people who try to play God and dictate their own morals. (see Fruit Of The Forbidden Tree)
But there is hope. It is a hope of turning away from an agenda that puts you first and anyone else, including your own child, second. “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12. Many women, like Norma McCorvey, have come to acknowledge their sin in promoting abortion and have repented. And, in so doing, have found life. We ALL sin and with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ comes redemption and eternal life, regardless of the sins committed.
That’s my 2 cents.
Love,
Mom
